Porter Claytor

I want to know what brand 'Jib' furler I have on my H33. It is a very simple aluminum extruded one piece section, the roller line housing appears to be swaged to the extrusion as well as the upper end. Any ideas, Thanks Porter SV Cynara

Hyde streamstay 1

Porter, you almost certainly have a Hyde Streamstay 1. That's what on my 79 H33. Here is a link to info and parts for the furler. http://www.rigrite.com/Furling/hyde/hyde.html. Bearings used in the top and bottom swivels and in the halyard swivel plus seals can be found also from bearing suppliers. If it has been more than 3 or four years since the bearings have been rebuilt, probably a good bet they should be replaced. When I overhauled my furler last fall, I found the bearings in the lower swivel which gets most of the spray were in really scary condition from corrosion.
