Old Isomat mast

I replaced the mast on my 1994 h26 this spring and wondered if there is any value in trying to sell the old one (repairable?), rather than cutting it up and recycling it. The mast raising pole went through the side of it leaving an approx 1.5x5 inch hole. Opinions?

Maybe put it on craigslist and sell it as a flag pole, if you get a few bucks for it great, beats trying to dispose of it yourself.

Aluminum has some sort of scrap value, too.

Besides being a sailboat dealer now retired, pilot and investigator, I would not try to sell the mast as a mast unless you cut it off at the bottom or sell as is as scrap is not producing the funds like it use to. I would say on a bill of sale that the mast is being sold as is, where is accepting no responsibility to keep yourself from any question of any liability. It would make a good flag pole

Shorten it to cut out the damage, and sell it as that new length.

What did you decide to do about your damaged mast. I have Hunter 26 and the mast foot is broke. Would you sell your old one. It is a match for mine.
