Old Fuel

I have kept Diesel in a plastic jerry can for about a year. Should I use this fuel, or toss it(responsibly, of course) and get some fresh diesel. I have looked at it and it looks clear (no algae).

Use it

There should be no problem, especialy if it is a small quantity in comparison to the tank capacity.

Additive

If you are at all worried about the fuel, filter it, and add some deisel additive to it. This will reduce the chance for growth in deisel.On my 340, I rarely burn over a third of my tank a year as I can sail 5 minutes after leaving the dock (4 year old boat has 250 hours on the engine), and have never had problems with the deisel, though I've routinely used additive.
