I like to be barefoot, but my old feet are starting to hurt when climbing up the transom ladder, which is still just stainless. Has anyone found an aftermarket step that attaches to the ladder rungs giving even a coupla' inches to find some footing on? The closest I've come is Gaerlick, but their steps are not long enough.

How bout your own fix

cut pvc pipe and make steps, you can cut thick wall pvc. and shape it with a sander and make a much better shape to stand on. it work pretty well and is not a hard project. The hardest part is to drill the holes in the stainless. So you could fabricate then to fit tightly arround the uprights at each end and maybe a strap in the middle.

WM has good steps at a reasonable price

They are pieces that attach to the rung and the side of the steel tubes to provide a stable, flat surface at the side of the step. I just bought enough to do both sides of 3 steps on our lader for around $60 David Lady Lillie
