Has anyone experienced problems filling the starboard aft water tank on a 460? Both starboard tanks are filled though the same deck fill - there is a 'Y' that splits the intake hose to the two tanks - and vent through the same vent hose - again there is a 'Y' between the tank vent lines and the vent thru-hull. I pulled the hose from the deck fill a couple times to let pressure out - and got quite a good geyser. I will be trying to pull access panels to look for kinks or blockages in the fill and vent hoses. Just wondering if anyone with similar setup has come across this before I start surgery.

no gusher

No problem here. Good luck. Please post your results. Also, did you check the arcives? Warren

Similar problem on another boat though

Assume that the valve that selects tanks 4 and 5 is closed. Next assume that somehow, you created a seal when you place the hose in the filling outlet. Your adding of water would pressurize the water tanks. When the hose comes out, the pressure would be released and you would have your gusher. Could you duplicate the circumstances and create a seal at the deck level? Did water accumulate in the bilge? If you run full pressure through the hose and hold the hose an inch or two above the tank fill on deck, does all of the water go down without problem? The preceeding questions may help direct you to isolating what happened. Good luck again Warren
