Thanks, BradI'm sure they were there for something.. sink drain, bilge pump, cockpit scuppers and anchor locker drainage come to mind. If you really don't need them, just plug them up and be done with it
Cheers,
Brad
Nope, none of the above. They have seacocks. Two are located just after the v-births and one is mid way on the starboard side. No drains are needed at these points. Very small cabin so no sink, head or water carrying items. They could also have been used as through hole fittings for a sonar transducer or odometer.
Where are they located?
Hey, one never knows what some people might do. This is a very old, poorly built kit boat and who knows how many PO's prior to me. I got it for the challenge and the 7 sails!I didn't post my original thought about this because I felt if was just one of my silly, off-the-wall responses that was of no value. But the more I think about it, the more I think it at least has merit...
Could it be the boat was leaky and the PO installed the drains to actually be drains? Yes, I know they wouldn't work in the water, but on the hard, I can see opening seacocks to let the water out.
You are correct in not many Luger folks around. My hull is #151 so one of the older ones. Not sure if it was the kit or factory variety. There are a couple of Luger sites where someone might know. The most active are the Facebook and the two Yahoo groups. There aren't many of us Luger folks around.
CherieThe two forward sounds like a head inlet and pump out. The one on the side sounds like a sink drain. What ever they were, if you have no use, remove the thru-hulls and glass over the penetrations.
