with? When I bought "Oh Joy", she came with a full set of covers and boom tents. They were horribly stained and mildewed. Having just bought a new LG washer and dryer, I washed them. The difference is startling. They look brand new, no mold, mildew, rust or oil stains. However, what do I spray them with to help them regain their water resistance?

If Sunbrella or Polyester

and nylon acrylic, olefins, cotton, wool, etc. ...then use "303 High Tech Fabric Guard" . This is the same stuff that Glen Raven Mills the manufacturer of Sunbrella recommends for Sunbrella water repellency restoration. Most 'boat supply houses' carry 303. Dont get 303 Fabric Guard on vinyl or clear vinyl windows. Don't confuse with "303 UV Protectant"

Rich is right..

303 High tech Fabric Guard is the ONLY approved waterproofing treatment for Sunbrella! Do not confuse it with 303 Aerospace Protectant they are two entirely different products for different purposes. As an aside, I spilled some 303 High tech Fabric Guard on my Mahogany deck last year. To my surprise, and to this day, that spill spot NEVER gets wet and is still beading water a full year later! It would be an expensive deck treatment but holy crap that stuff lasts!!! 303 High Tech Fabric Guard: http://www.303products.com/tech/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=429

If it didnt have a supposed 'wax' in it, it'd be GREAT for bare teak decking. The teak wouldnt get wet, would have UV protection, and the teak wouldnt go 'grey'. MegaYachts used to use a "Scotchguard' derivitive on their bare teak decks and these decks always looked freshly sanded. Too bad 3M supposedly stopped making (original) Scotchguard due to grave environmental conerns - the key ingredient is one of the longest lasting organic compound ever synthesized. Ive used straight scotchguard on bare fresh sanded teak with great results. The 303 Fabric Guard on bare teak is tooooo damn slippery to be of any benefit.

Oh jeeze...

Wow I would never put it on a teak deck sorry you took it that way! My point was only that the stuff is durable & long lasting and where I spilled it on my deck it's till beading water, yet not attracting dirt like a silicone based product would. By the way my deck has been soaked because since Monday up here it's been raining, wet or drizzly and that spill spot is still dry......
