OK..I just bought a new Hunter 326, I'll take delivery March 1. The 326 is essentially the same as a 310 and 320. I'd like to hear from all you 310, 320 and 326 owners on what problems you may have had, what good points your boat has, anything else you can think of. I've got the in-mast furler, dodger and bimini, deep keel, spinnaker gear (no spinnaker as of yet), and 2 speaker stereo. I'll be sailing mainly on the Columbia River, but hope to cruise up to the San Juans in the future. Thanks, Scott

Fun, Fun Fun

I took delivery of my 320 in March last year. I had some problems with the cabin lighting where they used butt splices. Seems they left some bare wire hanging out of the splices. There was also some delay as they put some of the wrong equipment on the boat from the options I ordered (main furling mast step when I had the standard mast.) Once everything was taken care of, I added my own electronics and refridgeration system. I chose to expand the Raymarine electronics so everything would talk to each other. It has worked out well. I added the APC from this web site, a folding prop, and other goodies. My wife keeps asking when it will end, but I am still looking after a year at things I want to add. I am pleased with the boat, and was prepared for a few things to be wrong due to a production boat. The dealer has been good, and everything worked out so far. Enjoy the boat. Steve

Go over boat with a fine tooth comb

New boat have a 1000 little problems. If your dealer is locate where you will be keeping the boat then you can find them as time goes by. If not then I would first wax the entire boat and imperfection in fiberglass can be found and corrected. Second I would remove all interior panels top to bottom (I loved the wireways and pulling lines all though some of the lines were missing!) I installed my own stereo with four speakers and I found many little problems like screws not seated properly or tighten or missing etc. But the good side is the 320 is a great boat, you will love the in mast furling and the large cockpit and the traveler on the arch. Happy sailing

Congratulations! But....

I'm actually hoping that the 326 will be MY next boat. This MAY sound stupid, but, check that the damn shaft is connected to the engine. My buddy took delivery on a Hunter 38 a few years ago, and, the dealer forgot to hook up the shaft. The boat was delivered to his dock, and the shaft was only loosely connected. You can imagine his frustration when he went to back out for his first sail and...couldn't.
