I am new to sailing, and as I'm looking around my boat I see this line that says Jib Outhaul. Its not attached to anything, just fastened to the mast. Someone please tell me what this line is for and where does it attach on the jib.

What kind of boat is it?

You ain't stupid. Jibs don't have outhauls. Maybe it was to adjust the jib cars. Markdb

Outhall or uphall?

Do you have a furler on your headsail? If so, this might be your jib UPHAUL that is fastened to the mast.

Ok not stupid, just Ignorant

Sorry I do not have a roller furling, the boat is a hunter 26.5. The lines lead aft through the locking slides. The slides on the port side of the boat are labeled Jib outhaul, Spinnaker downhaul , and spinnaker halyard. I looked all over the internet, and the only articles I see on jib outhaul , have something to do with a jib boom. Sas-Sea came with alot of equipment, a whisker pole and Spinnaker pole, and another very large pole. But if it is a Jib boom, I dont see any way of attaching it.
