The original dipstick used for measuring the oil level on my Universal 5432 engine broke in two (it was plastic) and the pieces have since disappeared. I cannot find to buy such a dipstick, which was about three feet long. The engine manufacturer/seller carries only a short stubby thing that is great for tractor engines but no use in a boat.
I need a fellow O'Day 37 owner to pull out the dipstick and measure it from handle to tip and also measure the location of the two oil level marks in relation to the handle. I have been using a wire coat hanger but it is not satisfactory. I need to make a new and proper dipstick, which I can do if I have the measurements.
