we had just gone to pic up our 1987 23' from forked river,nj. we got off the garden state parkway to get on I-287 when we heard a loud crash. me,my father and my uncle looked behind and goddamn! the wheels on the trailer had just come off and were racing us down the road. we pulled over,my uncle made some calls to his friends in the welding,fixing and towing business. a garden state police officer some time later came and told us we had to pull off where we were,which meant dragging the poor trailer down the road even further. we got to a small shoulder,and by this point the suspension bolts on the bottom of the trailer axle had been torn to shreds. around 2 hours (and six unsucessful calls to dominoes to try to get some dinner. big help they were.) the tow truck showed up and we were on our way. so now we have a rudder,a toilet,2 jibs,a main and a couple of life preservers......so that's my story. boat is fine. just in shop. they had to take the trailer and the boat on it.
