new hatch for hunter 22

I was wondering if I could get a hatch made with the same type of bubble or rise that I have in my boat now. I used the same wooden arches with a piece of lexan but it scratches when I slid it open on the wood on the cabin top. I sanded the wood arches and it scratched the new piece of lexan. Now the third piece of lexan and some velcro between the lexan and the wood on the cabin top and I finally have it. I would still like to have it like the original one but if I can't I can live with what I have. thanks for any help you can offer george sv tangerine

George I hope I can help

I know what your asking about and my ownly response would be that to make a bubble hatch a mold would have to be made and the material heated in an oven, either drape formed, vacuum formed, or plug assist made. Unfortunately all these are fairly expensive ways to make it. You maybe should either stick with what you have or see if you can either get a used one or one from Hunter. Also see the respone I made to a measurements for hatch posting in smaller boats about Lexan. If you need any further help e-mail me I am in the owners directory. Russ Kline Merry James V H-25
