Interesting Sailm8. I dug around some and saw where a furling boom was ~$4.5K and that didn't include the main. Do you recall if the PO hired it all out or did he do the ordering and installation?I have a 29.5 that the PO converted to in mast furler. It is a seldom mast. The PO gave me all of the bills and it ran around 5000 bucks not counting the sail. I'm not sure what the sail cost. Works like a champ.
Clark, you might want to look around for a salvager in the New York Area. With all the boats there that were damaged, during Sandy, there could possibly be something available. Just a thought! It's a slow hump day so here goes:
Does anyone have a clue how much it might cost to convert to inmast furling for a mid-sized boat (Hunter 280)? I have a pretty good idea of what would need to be replaced but no idea of costs.
It was done at Sailors Wharf in St Pete FL. I don't know much more and the PO has since passed away.Interesting Sailm8. I dug around some and saw where a furling boom was ~$4.5K and that didn't include the main. Do you recall if the PO hired it all out or did he do the ordering and installation?
