Offshore Sailing School
Hello, A friend and I took the weeklong performance race week at the School in Captiva. We spent more than 6 hours a day for 6 days in the very capable Colgate 26 keelboats that they provide. They are great boats, and we had a great experience. The South Seas Resort, which they operate out of, is very plush. You can book cheaper rooms on the mainland, but the trip in and out of Captiva over the Sanibel bridge can be trying at times. We went in March of 2003, and only had one morning of rain. Really like the instructors at Captiva, as they work with you on your own level of expertise. I don't know how much damage that Charley did at the South Seas Resort. I know there was a fair amount of roof damage to the buildings, etc. Don't think you would go wrong with Offshore, they are affliated with US Sailing, rather than ASA. Good luck, Mike CollinsYacht C _/)
