I'm interested in hearing some 'off shore experiences' from people that have used or sailed the hunter 27 cherubini 'class'. I bought a 1978 h27 last year, and really love this boat. With some minor modifications and maybe two or three more years of experience, I would love to start my trip from Olympia, Wa.......sail down to San Diego.......then over to Hilo, Hawaii. It would be great to hear from some other local sailboat owners that may be from the 'West Coast area', that would be interested in doing the same thing. Maybe make plans for a group of sailboat owners to make the passage together. I realize a trip like this takes alot of preparation, planning and hands on practice. Looking forward to hearing some comments......for those who want to, your welcome to e-mail me..... donhuber1953@hotmail.com

In particular see Tom Minilili's review. The design is certainly up the the trip. Preparation of all systems for safety, stores, and comfort at sea have much in common with any other worthy design built for the cruising market over 20 years ago. David Lady Lillie

The Pacific Cup Handbook

is another excellent reference, written by Jim & Sue Corenman. I think it's available on this site - if not, West Marine (who sponsored the cup) should be able to get it for you. David Lady Lillie
