Hiee all,

Just wondering if anyone has any first hand info on these hatches and horn buttons.
TH Marine Sure Seal Deck Hatches size 13 1/4" x 30 3/4" and these horn buttons
Cole Hersee M626 Push Button Switch. I'd like to reconnect the electric horn as having the bottled air one flopping around in the cockpit is a pain. The hatch we currently have is simply a drop on type for the aft locker and when it rains we always get water in the aft locker not much but still. That is were the fuel tank and propane tanks (1 LB ones) for the cook stove are. I currently have a hole in the port coaming to allow for the fuel line to pass thru an out of the aft cockpit. I'd like to eliminate it. To do so will require some kind of thru deck fitting for the fuel line, any idea's. Basically what I'm looking for is for the hose from the tank to connect from the tank to the thru deck fitting then the clip on type fitting on the top side for the remainder of the run to the engine (OB).

Haven't used one, but that push-button looks awesome. (likely expensive though, no?) It's rated for 35A; as long as your horn takes less, you should be fine. It should be mounted so that water doesn't run into it.

There must be some good electronics and electronic surplus stores in Halifax/Dartmouth... you might find other options for waterproof pushbuttons. You could easily install two pushbuttons - one near the tiller, and one just inside the companionway.

Rear hatch & fuel hose... Pictures?

Hi C_witch. I don't think there is a specific hose hook up that goes through the deck. The best you may get is having a short hose from the motor going to a male attachment at the deck. (Just like the one on the tank.) I can see this being a problem. Not that it can't be done, I just think it may be a extra source of water or air into the system. (Not the pretty-st either.) Have you seen Sumners mods? I think he has it figured out. I have almost the same idea. (Hose comes through cabin and hooks to motor. There is a clam shell vent cover over the hole ware the hose comes out. I can push the hose in until the female end hits the clam shell vent. Keeps the open end facing down.)
As for putting the fuel tank in the boat... You have to have it vented. Both the area the tank is stored in and the tank.
I vent my laserette with a 3" muffin fan and flexible dryer hose going to a 3" round louvered vent. Very low amp draw and it runs all the time. (My 18v solar panel keeps the battery topped up.)
Pic 1 muffin fans, 2 motor well on another boat...see the big hole? Mine has a clam vent over it. The thing beside that is for shore power.
