Odorlos

Just picked up a botttle of Odorlos. Added 2oz and about a gallon of water to a nearly empty 20 gal tank. The instructions also say to dump and rinse weekly. Using the boat only on the weekends we normally pump out about once a month. is the weekly pump out necessary? Seems like a waste of chemicals if I'm treating a 20 gal tank but pumpng out at 5 gals or so.

We pump out as needed. Because we're located in the South, we double the dose (4 oz.). We also flush our tank 2-3 times before adding Odorlos. No problems with odor.

We also only pumpout as needed. I used to be very diligent about adding 2 oz. per week but have found when I missed a week or 2 for some reason that there wasn't any odor issue. The biggest help for us was that we stopped using the external intake for flushing fluid. Our sink faucet / shower head is on a flexible hose so we use fresh water to flush. BIG DIFFERENCE with odor control. Good luck.
