I... THINK... I can see how that gold dock line is wrapped. What I'm curious about is how it was executed. It looks, to me, like the working end of the line was wrapped inside of the standing end, twice, before the final turn that crossed to the outside. Not the strongest knot. But, how ever did the knotter execute that knot? Did they thread the working end under and inside the standing end twice, or did they create the "rolling" hitch before slipping it over the cleat horn?

I'll bet the one dollar boat you posted, rgranger, never saw a swiffer pad, much less, a box of them.

If both boats are for sale for a dollar, I would go for the one that maintenance was done on, even if it was just a swiffer wipe and hose down.
