How should the thwart under the companion way be attached to the underside of the cockpit sole and hull? Does anyone notice any movement while sailing? THX! Garyh

Garyh,
I can't speak about the O'Day 22 but here's a picture of that area in my O'Day 222 that may help. Mine is just a Teak 1X3" board of about a foot long with a small piece of 1/2" plywood screwed to the top of it. The plywood screws to the underside of the cockpit sole with two screws and it's other end is screwed into an area of the cabin well where the battery is stored. It's pretty simple on my boat.

So THAT'S what that piece is called. Mine is the same in my 222. I don't remember what it looked like on the 19 and 22 that I was on in college.
