Have an O'Day 32 CC displacing about 11,000lbs w/a 25hp Westerbeke 4cyl diesel mated to a paragon transmission. I don't seem to be getting much thrust from my two bladed prop in forward gear. Reverse seems to work okay but pulls strongly to port when backing. My prop is not fouled w/barnacles or anything. I am not sure what the dia and pitch are. I had a previous ODay 32 CC with an 18 hp Volvo-Penta and a 3blade prop. It would really move out (7knots) at 2600 rpm. Is there a recommended optimum size/pitch prop for this boat/eng configuration? Thanks. Charlie Grau

No thrust

Dear Charlie: Your problem may not just be the propeller. If the prop is seems to be working fine in reverse we should see no difference in forward unless the reduction gears are far off. Could you please provide to me transmission gear ration for both your forward and reverse gear? This will help me in determining what could be up with the system. Sincerely, Kevin L. Woody
