I have just bought an O'Day Ospray. (not a typo --that's Ospray spelled with an "a"). It measures 15 ft. and 6 inches overall. The mast measures 23 ft. and 6 inches, with an 8 ft boom. It looks a lot like photos of the daysailer, but has the logo O'day Ospray screwed on stbd and port. No paper work on the boat. The original trailer it sits on shows a certificate of origin 1965, probably the age of the boat as well. Since the Ospray isn't listed anywhere on the web-site, can anyone help me identify what I've got? Are any manuals available? Photos? The fiberglass is in great shape but cockpt coamings are gone and fwd edge of centerboard is cracked and delaminated. A beautiful little boat which I intend to restore as much as possible to its original configuration. Sources for parts for this model? Any help appreciated.

Ospray info

As you will often see when it comes to Oday boats, one of the best sources for info and parts is Rudy at D&R Marine. Rudy worked for Oday for years. You should have no trouble getting contact info by doing a search. Rudy works pretty much on his own I think, so response may take a little while. Osprey is listed under the Oday models for these posts. (I note the spelling difference), but I can't refer you to another source. My boat is a Tempest. Good luck.

Joe; I just did a Google search and got this link for you. Maybe one the contributors can help you out. http://www.daysailer.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=23&sid=af5741aa3deffa2fbdabf24dbd544bca

Ospray

Bob-thanks for the links, and the Rudy contact. I haven't contacted any of the contributors yet but it seems there are still some Osprays out there. Finally found a hull number inside the small cuddy (# 9167) so I guess it was the 91st Ospray built, off the line in '67. Thanks again and happy sailing, Joe
