O'day Operation and rigging instruction

I've just purchased a 23 O'day name Zig Zag. I'm looking for an owner's manual or the Operation and rigging instruction sheet. The one in the manual section of this web site is not readable or printable.I also need advice on the proper way to raise the mast.TxYves

No manual, but try

a web search for DJ Marine as a starting point. They specialize in Odays, and a couple of others. I'm new to the Oday web site, but have seen them mentioned quite a bit.

Yves - where do sail in Montreal? I spent a very happy summer in Pointe Claire many many tides ago. I had a summer job working at Noranda.Anyway I have a decent copy of the manual which I can send to you. It is just a few pages but did provide me with some interesting information.Re - raising the mast - this is not so difficult and is best acomplished by a couple of people. I only raise and lower once a year since I leave my boat on a mooring. Not sure what I would do if I had to do it everytime I wanted to go sailing.Do a search of the archives here and you will see a lot of information about raising and lowering the pole.Jamesjforster@ti.com

Mast Raising System

Yves,I keep my boat on the trailer and rig each time I go out. I found this link (see below) and built the system described at the bottom of the page. I made a few improvements...I use 2 double pullies between the A-frame and the deck fitting on the bow. The 4:1 purchase makes raising the mast very easy. I also attach the A-frame to the life line stancheons (sp?) via a pair of swivels. This prevents the A-Frame from binding. I place each leg of the A-frame on a small piece of 2X8, just forward of the mast base. It takes me about 5 minutes to set this rig up as I use snap rings on all points.
