hey everybody, i have a 1968 or 69 mariner with a fixed keel that i got for free. when i looked at the keel bolts i noticed that they are rusted and the ones that are under the outside deck are pretty bad. What is involed in changing them and will they crack in half when i try to smash them out? what kind of bolt should I use also? I am 18 years old and work in a garage so i have the mechanical skills to fix it my self and want it as a summer project. the boat other than that needs some floor boards and pylwood work in the cabin but other than that i want to fix the keel situation with new bolts and replace the wood boards that the keel bolts go through too. does anyone think im going to be spending too much time on a boat that is not worth it or should i go ahead with this project.
