I rececently purchased a small (17') daysailer. It resembles an Oday Daysailer II. But than again looks like a mariner without the lightport. The previous owners son says it is an Oday. Decals on the side say mariner II with two broad lines running aft of the lettering. The mast is step mounted to the top of the cuddy. On the sails which I presume to be original is an emblem that much resembles a hurricane symbol in red. To top it off the title says it is a Skipper. What ever the hell that is! Any help would be well....helpful and appreciated. thanks

What is it?

This may be of some help. According to the "Encyclopedia of Sailing" a "Hurricane" is a centerboard boat with a sloop rig, an overall length of 19 ft., a beam of 6 ft. 9 inches and a sail area of 176 sq. ft. A "Skipper" is a centerboard boat with a sloop rig, an overall length of 14 ft., a beam of 4 ft. 9 inches and a sail area of 83 sq. ft.
