How does one intrepret the PIN number on O'Day boats? I get the month and year, but the rest must be in a code of some sort. Is there a place that explainds the other numbers/letters? Thanks John

My code on my oday is as follows XDYD77840974 The XDYD is the manufacturer and model, in this case o-day, and daysailer. The next four numbers are the sail/hull numbers which are on mine the 7,784 hull molded from this mold. The next four numbers change according to the manufacturer at the time. 09 74 means September 1974, but some builders in some years used letter codes. I have seen the code somewhere, but can't put my finger on it right now.

Roger, Thanks for the information. The PIN on my O'Day 322 seems to be more code than numbers. It is: STRSG131G788 I think the 788 stands for July 1988, the rest is indeciferable. John

Rod is a knowledgeable fellow near Boston, who knows the o-day, (and much other) boat history very well. He will eventually kick in with the answer, but I think Richard, has the key in the first link he shows. Rod should be able to tell you the years that Starcraft manufactured the Daysailer. Unfortunately, I don't have that in my records.

King Harbor
is still pretty much the same. The pier has partially burned down and blown down and been rebuilt and the surrounding area has grown a lot, like everywhere else, but I think it is still the nicest harbor around here. Where is Anna Maria Island?
