I have aquired an Oday 20. It is ready to sail except the center board seems to have the pull rope wedged in the slot with the center board. I have tried several things to get the board to come down, to no avail. Is there something I am missing, or should try?

Not familiar with the 20 per se but I have had a few centerboard boats. Can you take out the pin and drop the front of the board. If that will come out you shoulod be able to work the rest free.
I had an O'Day 23 and the centerboard would always get jammed in the slot of the iron keel. Mostly due to corrosion build-up. Finally took out the light, fat fiberglass board and replaced it with a 1/2" thick steel board. Worked great. The extra ballast down low really stiffened her up.
