I own a 1987 O'Day 322.

But I am having a real problem locating the fuel gauge.

Any comments appreciated.

On my 322, the fuel gauge is on top of the tank, located in the lazarette. As far as I'm concerned, it's a terribly inconvenient spot (except to the manufacturer), so at some point I'm going to relocate it and install a gauge with a remote readout near the engine instruments.

Ah - must have been designed by the same person who placed the engine shutoff in the lazarrette. Good point about the guages for te engine control panel. I also moved up from the 272 to a 322.

Pete,

Have you looked into tank moniters, they have a master panel and sensors that can be placed on the fuel ,waste & water and having a design to handle all fluids levels
I was going that route on Free Spirit then I relized its real easy for me to just look at the tanks while I'm checking the engine so I just did a fuel gauge only and I've been keeping track of the fuel by engine hours and I'm pretty accurate

The fuel tank on the Oday 322 is the shape of the hull and not very high. I log the engine hours and carry a six gallon spare can of fuel.
