The Oday site has been a great source of information for me over the past few years. Now that I'm ready to move up from a near perfect Oday '25 to something larger, I'd like to see if you owners might be able to help me sort out my options. We sail Tampa Bay and the Gulf so a shoal keel boat is important, as is ease of getting on and off the boat for swiming and such. I've been told that a shoal keel Oday '31 with the "sugar scoop" transom would be a wise choice. I'm not familar with the Oday '31 so I'd like to hear any pro/con comments about that boat. Also, if someone along the Florda central west coast has a '31 and would be gracious enough to invite me to look at their boat I'd very much appreciate the opportunity. Lunch would be on me. King

I have a 31 and really like it. Not a lot of them around here in southern California though. I don't think that many were made. I do like the swim step. Makes it easy to board from the water or dingy. Lots of room below and sails well even though a bit slow off the wind in light air. Mine is a deep draft so can't comment on the shoal keel model. Let me know if you have any specific questions I might be able to answer.

I think the 31 is the same boat as the 82-83 30 ft with the exception of the updated transom. You have a larger pool of information available if you include data on the 30 even though you are planning to buy the 31. Mike B
