Oday 30 Baltimore
Just bought a 1980 Oday 30. Tons of potential...we're thrilled about the boat already. The biggest update we need is a new set of porlights (all 6). I took some outer diameter measurements, but they dont seem to line up with much that I can find on the internet.
Does anyone know the Oday 30's portlight sizes (or where to inquire)? Also what is the spigot depth?

Thanks!

Are they broken, or so old you can't see through them?
If they are just old and cloudy, I might have a fix for you.

Really? I cant seem to find any of the tapered windows like we have. Do you remember our spigot depth (1", 2") ...if I can find a reference to it or someone knows that I can avoid taking one of these suckers out until I'm ready to replace it.

BTW - I need to get all 6. Most have some structural damage and/or are leaking. If it was just one I would consider repairing it, but these things need to be replaced.

Call Rudy Nickerson at D&R....he was the production manager for Oday and he'll know the answer, I measured the opening on mine and they were close to sizes I found on line (4x14) and because there installed pretty much vertical I don't think you have to worry so much about the depth of the rain spigot
When you do remove them be prepared to find rotted core between the outside and inside fiberglass, I vacuumed most of it out and than dried the area with a heat gun then inserted epoxied soaked wood to fill around the window area before installing my new ports....the installation was pretty straight forward and the new ports fit exactly with the exception of a different hole pattern
BTW what year is your boat?

Thanks for the great info!
Sorry I havent replied in a bit. Our Oday 30' is a 1980. It took me a bit to get back there and pull one of the windows out and really measure it well. I found a company, Pompanette LLC., down in Florida that appears to have the same size forward portlights, 4.5 x 14.5 cutout. Hopefully that solves those two, and yes I certainly did find some corrosion inside the hull where I pulled the only junkers out. I will fill that in.
The spigot depth is listed at 1 7/8" on these new ones, and the Oday hull is only 1" thick...is that a problem?

So, assuming those two forward ones work out, I need to get a pair of the middle angled windows, which noone seems to make stock...they appear to be 29 x 7.5 cutout (23.5 for the short length). I will call the fellow you reccomended to see if he can point me in the right direction there.

Thanks!

Did you find a supplier. My '78 Oday 30 needs those large cabin windows with the angled end also and no one I've contacted knows where to go.

:naughty:
Pompanette is a Pita. There are other brands that fit, or a company on the upper west coast that will custom make that are not outrageous prices. A minor modification of the cut out is better than lack of response you will get from Pompanette.

I DID get all my windows. Rudy at D&R Marine hooked me up with the cabin windows (the angled ones). I ordered the forward ports directly from Beckson. Honestly I think I overpaid by about $40 though, because even though West Marine didnt have the exact ones on their site they do have them if you call.
Good luck. Surprisingly this is all working out!
