Anyone had any experience with replacing this or what it looked like originally. Mines always been wonky and I put my boat on the hard yesterday to get the bottom done and do a little work on it. Noticed my keel sticks down about 6-8" with it pulled all the way up. I think the original set up was a steel cable from the keel into the tube and converted to line. Mine is a peice of 5/8 double braid with a knot tied on to a shackle on the keel. It works, but keeps it from coming all the way up. I'd like to "fix" it before I put it back in the water. Gotta say, this boat is in decent shape. Got some dime size and smaller blisters, but for a 32 year old boat its not to bad.

I have an oday 28 as well and last time she was out the yard crew noticed that the swage crip on the metal cable was in need of redo and they repaired it for me. Pretty sure it a metal cable that is connected to the pull line.
