I've re-powered a 28 from a sial drive to a yanmar saildrive,,, it was at some cost however it is very much worth it,,, if anyone is serious about the conversion and would like advise,,, email a.j.vomastek@worldnet.att.net.

Saildrives Fascinate Me
There seems to be a resurgencce in saildrive systems, over conventional shaft and cutlass/ stuffing systems. I have noticed that many European built boats have returned to the saildrive, once very popular during the eighties. There was some serious corrosion issues back then, perhaps they have corrected these? I have read that they are more efficient with regards to thrust angles and are more directionally efficient than shaft driven props. Don
