My 1981 O'Day 28 was hauled out and the 2-blade folding propeller is really severely worn and doesn't have the correct bolts or pins in it. The 2 blades just wobble around with lots of slack, very sloppy. This also caused the cutless bearing to go out and is very loose also. I'm going to throw the prop out and get a new one. I was thinking 2-blade fixed. The mechanic asked me to try find out the correct diamater and pitch so I can get a replacement. This has been causing stuffing box problems since I bought the boat. I have a guess-timate of around $500-$600 including about a $100 prop. And oh yes, the $200 or so spent on the stuffing box repack so far, too, and about 4 or 5 tightenings. Any advice or wisdom? This is a very important fix for this boat!Thank you, dave
