I just purchased an O'day 27 with an Atomic 4 and 15 gal (approx) fuel tank. Both were seriously neglected. I have pulled the tank out to replace and would like to know if anyone can help me find a "of the shelf" replacement or suggest any alternatives. Any info about the tank and or some info about the Atomic 4 would be greatly appreciated as I have no manuals about the boat or engine. Thanks and Sail on!

fuel tank info

I dont have the inboard modle, but as you have the tank out, measure it and contact West Marine for a simular size tank. I am sure that for a price you can get one. Also call the O Day parts guy. D and R marine (I think) he has some O Day stuff. Good luck larry Irish Rose

Atomic 4

I agree with the suggestion on the fuel tank. As for the motor, make sure you have a copy of Moyer's Atomic 4 Service and Overhaul manual. It is very helpful. Just keep in mind that you can find some of the maintenance parts at your local auto parts store. I also just had my alternator rebuilt locally for a very reasonable cost. Also make sure to change the oil frequently. Because of the mounting angle in the 27, you can only put in 2-2.5 quarts. Without a lot of oil, and with no filter, frequent replacement is a must. Good luck!
