I recently bought an O'Day 26. It has the french made mast unlike the 25 I once owned. The T Bar swedge fittings on the top of each of the mast shrouds actually slip into a slot approximately 1 1/2 inches long. The seller of the boat advised me that it would be a good idea to place something inside the slit once the T-Bar is inserted. This would prevent the T-Bar from ever "working it's way out of the slit in the mast. (He stuck a piece of rubber hose on his, but that can work it's way out) My question is does anyone have any idea if such a part is made for this, and if so, where can I get some? I will call Rudy at D&R tomorow, but just in case I wanted to throw this question out to the forum. I can easily see that under some loading conditions it would be possible for one of the T-Bar fittings to simply drop out of the slot in the mast...I want something in that slot designed to keep that from happening. Any ideas? Thanks!
