I recently bought an old trailer from a gentlemen who used it to tow a 26' sailboat (Catalina I think). I need the upright hieght for the bunks and the distance from the keel board out to each stanchion. This trailer has plenty of room for adjustment. Hopefully I don't have to adjust it too much.

the distance from the center of the keel to the ctr of the bunks is 24"
the distance from the ctr to ctr of the bunks straight across is 48"
my height from the crt of the bunk to the frame ( straight down not angle measurement) is 20"
the height of the wench and bow roller assy is 56.5"
the distance from the bow roller to the ctr of the keel is 12' 20" and the keel needs to be centerd between the axles.
my bunks are 2x6x12 yellow pine RUFF CUT so the measurements are true not smaller as store bought lumber is.
my keel sits on a 2x8x12 yellow pine
I added a 20' 2x2"steel extension to my trailer, and I upgraded 1 level in tires to give better weight loads.
any questions please reply back... Dave

It's pretty hard to get your trailer adjusted right on the money, on the first shot. It's better to set the bunks a little high than too low especially if you're planning on doing this at the boat ramp like I did because if the bunks are too low, the boat will be leaning to one side as you pull the trailer up the ramp, which is not good and you're first priority is to get the tongue weight adjusted first before you adjust the bunk height.
I used my hydraulic jack, a borrowed car jack, and my two boat stands to adjust my bunks. I had my bunk set so that my keel was up off the trailer's keel board about 1" and as soon as I got the proper tongue weight using a bathroom scale from home, I lowered the boat's keel on to the trailer using the jacks and my two boat stands. It worked out great. Of course, if you can have the boat lifted on to your trailer it would be a lot easier, more expensive, but easier. I like the DYI approach because it's fun, and I'm a cheap ole' guy. :D
