It's time to replace my 23 year old rigging. The swage fittings are staring to show signs of small cracks. Does any one have the info on finished size for the uppers, forestay, and backstay? My '77 came with the two piece upper shrouds with the triangle mast stepping plate. I want to eliminate the plate and run continuous from the tangs to the turnbuckle on the deck. I know that I could drop the mast and measure, but that would push the project into the Thanksgiving cruise. Thanks, PM

Should Have These for you Tomorrow

Paul, I have all my old rigging wound up in the shed. Actually it would be easier for me to measure that than get an accurate measurement on the downed mast, as it is taped and tied onto the mast in all manner of ways, for the winter. I will unwind these on the lawn and get an accurate measurement tomorrow. Don

Rigging Wire Lengths

Paul, here are the lengths, measured from the swage stud end (where the wire enters the swage stud) to the swage eye or fork end: Backstay = 31' 8" Forstay = 29' 10" Cap (Upper) Shroud = 27' 8" Lower (Inner) Shroud = 14' 6.5" These measurements do not include the swage studs, turnbuckles or swage eyes in the measurement as there may be small regional differences in there lengths, and every boat will have a different # of turns on the swage stud within the turnbuckle. These were taken from an older set I had lying around the shop. You are very wise to remove them, as it sounds like there long past due. Good luck with the upgrade. Don

Rigging Wire

Paul You didn't say whether your OD25 was a center board or a fixed keel. The fixed keel model has a taller mast and therefor longer rigging. Didn't know if you were aware of this or not. Paul

Spot On Paul...Missed That

Made a big assumption with Pauls' boat. You are absolutely right. I know I have seen somewhere the difference in height of the mast between the 2 models. Do you know what it is? Don

Paul M. to Paul P.

Thanks Paul , I forgot about the fixed keel model and its' taller rig. My 25 is a centerboarder which makes her perfect for the Keys. PM
