Oday Oday 28 1979 Trailer
I recently purchased an O'Day 25 and I have a few questions about how the plumbing should go under each sink there is a valve and a hose barb one comes out under the water line one comes out above the waterline do these sinks have a specialized one-way valve that goes there? Or can I just use a regular 3/4 one-way valve? My next question is I was under the impression that this boat had a built-in ice chest and built and water tank where would these things be located if they were in the boat it's looking like they were removed but where is their original stock position? Also one of the hatches inside on the left when you walk in has two large valves that you can open and see straight through the whole what are these for? Thanks for any help

The above waterline head sink on my 25 has no valve, I dont think you need one.

The galley sink does discharge below and no it is not a 1 way valve. I plan to remove mine and the head seacocks this winter to have zero below water holes. I will run a above waterline discharge for the galley sink, most likely to the center of the stern.

The stock water tank is under the cockpit seats on center line forward of my battery. Mine is nasty and I'm pulling it and replacing with 7 gallon aqua trainer with electric pumps.

The ice chest was an option, built into the galley next to the sink. Again there are a lot better modern options to consider.

My 1980 model is similar to Johns. The head sink drains out through an above water line through hull. No valve of any kind.
The galley sink drains almost straight down through a under water thru hull with a sea cock valve.
The ice box is built into the galley counter. It drains into the bilge.
The two large valves sound like thru hulls and sea cocks. Any thru hull under the water line needs a sea cock valve to stop water from entering the boat should a hose crack or come off the fittings. Shouldn’t be any check valves in any of the lines.
My water tank is located under the cockpit.

@Bo96 I assume this is the O'day 28 you were asking about that turned out to be an O'day 25. The pics of the galley in your other thread showed a very modified aft galley setup so you probably can do what ever you like.

Also there is a specific O'Day Owners area on SBO that you might want to post for info that usually get's more attention.
