oday oday 25 Wicomico church va
I'm looking into having an oday 25 transported from RI to VA and in order to get a quote , I need the actual height of the boat. I've not found it and I have looked. Also if anyone has a recommendation for a boat hauler that would be a bonus. This would be the model w/a drop center board, not a full keel.
Thanks

Now a friend of mine is suggesting that using a boat hauler is a waste of money, put the same money into a trailer even though I don't need one other than getting the boat to my property. I guess for resale it's not a bad idea. thoughts?

unless you know someone in the business...you are looking at $4.50 - $6 per mile, one way...plus rigging, loading and unloading fees, wait fees and such....

could be more if you have to set up the travel lift to get it on the trailer and off again...

I think a trailer would be considerably less, especially if they have to travel off hours to miss the I-95 corridor or need wide load fees...

you might check with Nortons, Tiffany's, or other dealer in your area to see if anyone is coming back empty....they would likely cut you a better deal, than dead head home.

Contact Brownell Systems (brownellsystems.com), I think in Marion or Mattapoisit, MA or contact Casey's in Newport. You can get an idea of cost and other info.

You know this is a trailerable boat do you not? Cheaper to find a good deal on an ez-loader trailor. If you do not have a suitable hiway road worthy vechicle for towing. Then rent a motor home and can you say road trip.:yeah: Make it fun, take a small vacation!

Agree with onecoolair and anchorclanker-- You should be able to find a reasonably priced sailboat trailer that will fit your boat, and rent a pick-up from U-Haul for quite a bit cheaper than it would cost to have it professionally shipped. Even better if you find the trailer in Rhode Island... then you only have to rent the truck (and pay for the lousy fuel mileage) in one direction.

Alternatively, someone might be willing to lend you their trailer for a weekend...
