ODay 25 Fin Keel??

An Oday 25' has been offered for sale to me as a step up from my Helsen 22'. I had never heard of anything other than a Oday 25 with centerboard. Has anyone heard of a fin keel 25? Year 1978 I am told only 100 of them were made. Good or bad. Of course the seller says its great. What should I know about this?

OD 25 Fin Keel

SallyI have a 1977 OD25 Fin Keel. In my opinion it is a much better boat than the CB model. You will get better performance to windward, faster, stiffer in strong winds, all around better performance. There are no center board problems to deal with. The only drawback is it is more complicated to launch if you launch from a trailer on a ramp. If you use a lift then no difference. If you get the boat and are planning to launch from a trailer on a ramp I will be glad to help on the setup and proceedure. Hi Sally,My wife and I purchased a 25 called a "Tall Rig" we have been siling for a while and it is our first boat. I agree with Paul, it is very stable and forgiving. Great boat in our eye's.
