I had to pull the centerboard because of binding. The centerboard looks =OK, but the pin shows wear. I ordered a new pin from Rudy and it came =priority mail. What service!! However, when I checked the new pin with =the old pin, the new one is about 1" longer. When I was ordering the =pin, Rudy said the pin sits on top of the wedges on each side of the =centerboard. Has anyone replaced this pin and does the pin sit in a =notch high up in the centerboard trunk with the wedges holding it in =place. Pins and Wedges

I pulled the CB on my 23 which has the same set up as the 25. In the CB trunk in the keel there are two slots, one on either side of the keel. The pin goes through the CB and up in the slots. The pin should fit fairly close on both sides in the slots in the trunk. The reason is that the wedges are only about a 1/2 inch thick if my memory serves me right, and the pin rides on top of them in the slot. Most people I have talked to use waterproof caulk between the wedge and the keel as a safty measure to help hold it in place. Mine was assembled that way as well. Rudy would be a better sorce about that than me. Then the plates are screwed into the keel to hold it together. Pretty simple design. I hope this helps.

oops couldnt resist. how long is the pin that you removed? I'm curious otherwise the description of the process by the gent, who has responded is correct. mine also had "caulk" behind the wedges. I would say to use only enough to do the job, otherwise you decrease overall clearence for the c.b.are you having it lifted to do the deed?
