I'm looking for a mast, boom, stanchions, bow and stern rails. Any information on whereabouts to locate or availability of would be much appreciated. I can be e-mailed at peel@oswego.edu

Probably not Rudy

Rudy at D & R Marine (the website listed in the prior response post) is a great source of info, but I doubt he has the parts you are looking for. Oday did not make them even back in the day. Kenyon made the boom and mast for the Oday 23, as well as for many other boat makers. They are still in business. Check out their website; they can probably tell you which of their standard products was used on the year of your Oday 23. As for stanchions, West Marine, Defender and BoatUS all sell replacement stanchions. They probably won't exactly fit the footprint of the old ones, but the old holes are easy to fill with epoxy. The bow pulpit and stern rail are more difficult; Rudy may be able to help you with dimensions, but chances are you will need to find a marine metal fabricator to custom make the parts. Another manufacturer's standard part might fit, but it seems unlikely. Good luck.

Parts

Just an idea: You might be better off looking for "beater" similar model boat which has the parts you desire, stripping the metal parts you need and discarding or reselling the rest. Used boats, especially if they need lots of work are really cheap. A friend just got a new trailer this way: bought boat, ob and trailer; sold the ob, stripped the boat of useable items and took it to the landfill keeping the trailer-cheap!
