I need an O'day 23 replacement sliding companionway hatch cover. The previous owner lost it while driving the boat home the very last time before selling it. Any advice? Fabricators? Used parts?

You could try D&R Marine and see if they have something.

I see a hatch for an O22, but not for an O23…

Otherwise, you could measure the size and have a local glass/plastic shop make one out of Plexiglass. You would probably need to drill it for a stop in the back and a handle on the front edge. But it would not be too hard.

On my O’Day 322, a PO made a rounded slider. Keeps the water from pooling on a flat piece of plexiglass. But it is heavy.

This is from yesterday…yes, that is snow on the companionway

Thanks for that advice. I will check that out. Someone told me a 22 or a 25 will fit the 23. I hope that is true.

IBX Boatworks (WindyJunk9 on ebay) may also have a hatch for a 25. Good guy, I've bought parts off of him a few times

I have one I might could be convinced to part with haha, where are you located at?
Niles, Michigan I intend to sail on Lake Michigan. But also I have an excellent custom made 2 axle trailer that is very smooth riding so it is very mobile. I want to make vacation trips to the Gulf or other places. I think the cabin might make a nice hotel room or camper on the way. The more I read about my 1978 O'day 23-2 the more I am convinced I have the right boat.
