My '79 Oday 23 has jib sheet blocks inboard of the shrouds and tracks with blocks along the cockpit. I run the Genny on the tracks, obviously, and the 110 jib on the inboard blocks. I recently read on another forum that maybe I should be using the tracks for both headsails. Thought I'd ask the Oday experts. When using the standard 110 jib, which set of blocks should I be using?

I don't think the tracks go far enough forward for a 110. You want the sheets to pull on the clew at the right angle to give a good shape to your sail.

The tracks on my O23 were set up for a 150-170 genny (I saw the diagrams for the 170 at a local sailmaker). I had to remove them and move them forward when I went with a 140.

Thanks for the reply. If I measured correctly, my genny is a 140. and the blocks are currently about in the middle of the tracks. Being fairly new to all this, my wife and I only put the genny up in very light winds. We use the jib most of the time. We do have a little help here, but our "weekends" don't correspond with those of normal people. Most of our sailing knowledge has come from books, this forum and trial and error. It's a slow learning curve, but we are still alive and "TicToc" is still afloat after 2 summers. We've had a few scary moments, but it's been great, so far. Thanks, again.
Mike
