oday 22 Keyport Harbor, Raritan Bay
I have a 78' Oday 22 and the sails are getting tired. I am looking at replacing them for next season with new or good condition used sails. In my online searches I find that replacing the mainsail and jib become an expensive venture. Does anyone have any suggestions of where I may find sails for a good price, or does anyone have sails that ae in good shape and loking to sell?
Thank you. Jim

Oday Day Sailer Wareham, MA
Rudy at D&R Marine has about the best price that I've seen for new sails, they are OEM quality Neil Pryde (same as your boat came with in 1978). I saw an even better price for sails for my Day Sailer from a dealer on eBay, not sure if they had O'DAY 22 sails, they were located in Southern Rhode Island if I recall. One thing to watch for, make sure that you look for sails for a pre-1980 22! O'Day changed the sailplan by increasing the height of the mast on the 1980-83 model 22. Anything 1972-79 should fit.

For average, I'd say new sails from a local sailmaker may run $1800+ to start. D&R lists the Main for just under $900, but the working jib is not listed.... If you call Rudy I think he could get one at a reasonable price! He might even be able to find you a used suit of sails for less.
