ODay 22 keel height

Hi there!

I'm modifying a trailer to fit my ODay 22, and I need to know the height of the keel from where it meets the bottom of the boat to the bottom of the keel. I can't seem to find this dimension in any of the on-line documents I've found, and I'd rather not take a swim with a tape measure at this time of year.

Anyone have one out of the water or know this dimension off hand?

It's a 1974 ODay 22, so its the fixed keel, not the swing keel. 1'11" draft but that's to the waterline, yes?

Keel height

I just went outside and measured the keel on my 1978 and it is 18" from the bottom of the keel to where the keel meets the hull. My boat is in my backyard so let me know if you need more measurements.

Thanks! That should give me what I need. 1978s had the original keel, I think. I just needed to know how high to make the bunks on the trailer so that the keel doesn't hit the cross members.

I have a sketch of a 1978 22' O'Day's hull and keel. It shows it to be 18" too. If I knew how to down'oad it to this blog, I'd forward it to you. If you send me an email address, I can forward it to you. The guy who made the sketch retired as a Marine Architec for Morgan. I believe it to be pretty close.
