Hello out there, Has anyone routed their oday 22 halyards back to the cockpit? I would appreciate any hints or ideas you might have. thanks

Here's what I did

First, I installed two single line rope clutches on the cabin top, one on each side of the hatchway. I mounted them in an alignment with the mast and the winches. Then, I mounted two cheek blocks on the mast about a foot up from the bottom of the mast and just a little bit forward of abeam on the mast. Thread each halyard through a cheek block and into the rope clutch. With the cheek blocks up a little bit on the mast, the halyards, when taut, will not interfere with the sliding cabin top hatch. With the small amount of deck space available, I chose not to use deck organizers. Hope this helps. Bob McGee

My solution

I mounted a double block to my mast, to start the lines aft. Then, not wanting to drill more holes in the boat than necessary, I tied a second double block to the handrail. Now that I've tried it out for a while, I suppose I can take it off the handrail and mount it permanently to the cabintop, but there's no hurry. At the aft end of the cabintop, I mounted two nylon horn cleats. This was a very inexpensive upgrade, and it has been working just fine. O'day 22's aren't designed to give you a lot of space for running lines aft, but you can just squeeze them in. Not a major problem.
