I'm trying to register my EZ Loader 6.0 trailer which came with my O'Day 22, all I have is a bill of sale so I don't have a empty weight for the trailer.
Does any body have documentation, which would show the empty weight for this trailer? I'm trying to avoid taking the boat off the trailer to take the trailer to a weigh station. I've tried to contact EZ-Loader with the serial number but they don't return e-mails or phone calls.
Any info gratefully received.

Sure, I know.. It weighs 565 lbs...
Maybe you missed the memo, but whenever dealing with the DMV you tell them what they want to hear.. You make a guess and you tell them that with all the confidence in the world. And, its not like your breaking any rule or law because in almost every state - any trailer weighing under 2K lbs does not require a title.. Your trailer is surely under 2K lbs...

This would have all been water under the bridge had you just said 565 lbs.. But, when you said I dont know - thats when they felt the need to turn your screws and make you jump through hoops...

Hey Andy
I went thought this same thing last April went I registered my O'Day 22 Trailer in Connecticut. My boat with a single axle Load Rite trailer that did have a plate with the weight info but I couldn't read it. The previous owner was able to provide the needed info from his registration. The trailer weight is 675 lbs and the GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) is 3335 lbs. The GVWR is trailer + max load. So my trailer can haul 3335-675 or 2660 lbs. I think my 1983 O'Day 22 weights about 2200 lbs. Hope this helps. BTW I agree with Johan S you can't say" I don't know". I tried that first but the CT registry dude explained that the law does not allow them to provide any guidance because they could be liable if they are wrong. They won't argue with your weight specs but they must YOUR weight specs.

A few months back, I made the mistake of selling a 10' utility trailer ( piece of crap with 8" wheels ) to a Haitian guy.. I sold it as is, where is... Well, he went to try and registar it and ran into all sorts of problems.. I told him, read your bill or sale and go talk to " people in the know " He wanted me to provide all sorts of proof of ownership papers and notary's from lawyers that the DMV told him to do.. WHAT! WTF! I told him I donated to Haiti Earthquake relief with Wyclef.. Didnt matter.. Again I told him to go talk to people in the know.. The DMV had him going all sorts of hoops on a Piece of crap trailer. Then he wanted me to drive out to the DMV with him with a friend that would testify that I owned on my behalf.. WHAT!!! WTF!! Next, I was getting calls from Haitian Mafia types that were threatening me - who I promptly told - " GO THE EFF back TO HAITI! I guess the guy finially talked to someone in the know because he finially went away after calling my GF and giving her a sob story.. All he had to do was say he trash picked the trailer and I did let onto that several times but the moron wouldnt listen... Dont take my post the wrong way - I'm not racist.. I'm just not big on idiot foreigners that play the foreign card.. Personally, I like Americans, be it black white or asian.. I worked way to long with foreign people and it left a bad taste in my mouf...
