O'day 22 Electrical Panel Location

I acquired a 79 O'day 22 and the electrical panel in the cabin is on the starboard inside of the cabin and cockpit bulkhead and the radio is on the port side of same. Would it not be better on the center bulkhead over the sink and counter? Where it is now seems like it is susceptible to weather conditions.
