Oday 22 Hidden Harbor
So today I purchased my first sail boat. An O'day 1973 22 foot. I got what I believe an incredible deal. Under 1000 dollars.

Main and three jibs are in great shape. Has a 4 horse power outboard. VHF Radio and all electrical works. All rotted wood has been replaced and the previous owner kept the boat in wonderful shape. I feel I couldn't have gotten a better deal.

The owner I purchased this boat from upgraded and his new boat is right next to my new boat and is open for questions anytime.

It is in pretty good shape. Some of the topside woodwork needs redone or replaced. Mainly just cosmetics!

The sink needs a facet. Other than some cosmetic work and a really good cleaning inside and out, she is a wonderful boat for a first timer!!

These are some pictures I took today. I am looking forward to this project.

All that and under a $1000... way to go, I too am working on a 1973 22' model. Can't say I got it for under a $1000 but it did come with a trailer which is a most for me. After the overhaul I'm making it a fresh water sailboat a couple of hours from home. Keep us posted as you get to know your O'day... photos are always welcomed.

Congratulations, you got a great deal! My first sailboat was an O'Day 23 (1971), many years ago, and it wasn't in as good a shape as yours. I'm sure you will enjoy your boat as much as I did mine.
