I have just purchased a used Oday 19 and the rudder had a small shock cord running from the tiller down to the rudder that appears to have been intended to snap the rudder back down after it has snapped up in shallow water.(I would have thought it would be more important to be able to raise the rudder in shallow water, so reversing the process really.)In any case, this shock cord is broken. Is it important? Does it really do anything? I have yet to put this boat in the water, so I'm trying to decide if its necessary to fix this. Thanks for any advice.Rod
